Hi, RPresta. We definitely are. He's not as sensitive to noise as I am. He does agree, though, that late/middle of the night, it should be quieter than it is sometimes.

I think one's tolerance to sound varies from person to person. I have very acute hearing and it is easy to experience a bit of sensory overload from too many noises and/or sounds too loud. Keep looking for a place that will beter suit you two.

Hi, C C T. Yes, for me they are. My husband does have tinnitus, though.

Re:

Hi, BC-A. Thanks :) Even though we've been here longer than intended (almost two years) & it hasn't always been ideal, we want our next place to be just right. Not grabbing up anything just to get out of here.

Hi, TAPS. We only have the TV on if we're actually watching it. I think some people leave it on, because they live alone & it keeps them company.

I used to ear a pump rattling away turned out it was tinnitus. I hope your is natural sounds.

I can't stand to have TV on all the time like some people do.  The continuous talking drives me nuts.  A program here and there like Nature on PBS is great, but just talking programs--off they go.
