I NEVER decorate in anticipation of the return of a family member who has been away, because...drum roll...when I was a child, my Auntie and her 7 children did that in anticipation of my Uncle's return from a business trip. He had tragically died at a young age before he made it home, and they were left with the banners and decorations on the walls! Sooo now, when someone comes home, I am always glad, and I just see what they may want to do!
