Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Kabu

Yes, who cares? In the end, who shows their report card? Good thing I never knew. Many, many thanks for your kind words.

Re: Re: Re: Kabu

I'm so sorry to hear that your cousin died so young, and that her mother was so competitive. I never knew it until only a few years ago, but I had an auntie who would call my mom to check how my grades were in school. Then she would chastise my cousins, saying, "Why can't you be more like R...". Sad.

Re: Re: Kabu

I never understood for many years why she seemed to love my big sis yet would pick on me. As an adult I gradually realized that her daughter, the same age as me,was my best friend for life. As much my sister as my real Sis was.We never had any trouble but obviously Auntie was competitive that her little girl would be more than me. Yet we children were never competitive. Never entered our heads. She died ten years ago, way too young and it broke my heart. Like part of me died.

Re: Kabu

Thank you very much, Kabu. What an awful thing for you to hear as a child! I am so sorry, and by an adult, at that! It happens, and it shouldn't.

your poetry so often just..well It just Naills it.

I used to hear.." Where did that child come from" words said mostly by an Auntie who seemed to dislike me so much.

Re: Nauikos

Thank you, and so true! The intellectual understanding within the brain and the emotional comprehension of the mind do not necessarily have to ride tandem.

Re: FSI

It would wreak havoc on anyone, for sure.

Re: TAPS

Yes, it is often true. Thank you.

RP

Well done, and interesting! I think the underlying notion is entirely correct - even when childhood hurts are overcome and can be smiled at later in life when the pain is no longer felt, the memory of the pain is not banished as easily...

Re: C_C_T

Yes, I have a great and loving family. This is not necessarily about myself! Sensitive people seem to be like that, even as children. Thank you.

Yes you are writing some good stuff PR. I hope you feel that you were born into a loving family. It is horrible really how a spiteful child or person can say something probably not even realizing the significance of the accusation and yet hurt a sensitive person.

One can imagine how that would wreak havoc with oneself.

How true this often is.  Well done.  You have such a unique way with your poetry.
