When I wrote and published my book almost 4 years ago I changed the names to protect the innocent and the guilty. I used a nonfictional scenario with fictional characters. Family members and others had to think, "Is it me she is talking about?", However, they could not be sure, so they dare not ask.

You have got a problem Kat. Probably better to write as some other family and miss out the recognizable calamities that befall all. Although maybe your own family would not beleive everything you say. If It was me I would write a spoof .

I understand and very much relate to having trouble posting things that for one reason or another are difficult to talk about or could offend others. For me, I get around that by having changed everyone's name.

I have trouble being totally honest with beloved family members if I know it will hurt them, and I know it will not help anything at all.

write it as a fiction changing names time frame and disguse some events. Or write the truth as you see it and keep it ssay with a lawyer to be released at some future time. Write it here is another option.
