Great writing and great wisdom here.  Liberalism had great intentions,  and has accomplished some great things,  but it has mostly degenerated into a desire to control others and make them follow the liberal dictates..... I would not go so far as to call it fascist,  as you say,  but definitely  a dictatorship,  operating under the disguise of democracy.  Perhaps you have heard the wise old saying:

"Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to eat for supper".

Or something like that.  Not sure if you saw my recent posts on Socrates.  I will follow with more on liberalism,  from a philosophical viewpoint,  more or less.

I believe I heard some poll....of course, polls are coming out like a-holes and I almost hate to use the word but, 'tis the season....anyway! this poll said something like 42% of Democrats - and this is what I wasn't sure if the commentator said caucus members or not - identified themselves as Socialists.  Now, what is debatable is whether they even know what that means, whether they mean it like it has traditionally been meant, etc.  Regardless, liberalism has gotten us where we are at this point and it has got to be curbed now.
