This is the first I have heard of that book or author.  I might have to pick it up.  I certainly agree with your excerpt from it.  The willingness to risk one's life is getting rarer and rarer.  Tolerance and cowardice is going to be the end of America as we know it.  If it ever gets any better,  it is going to get a lot worse first,  or so I fear.

One of my habits when reading is to make notes in the margins - that's difficult with audio books, LOL; that's why I have never bought any...But Harris is of course completely correct, and reminds me of Karl Popper's 'Paradox of Tolerance' (to paraphrase: 'Absolute tolerance inevitably leads to the destruction of the absolutely tolerant') in his book The Open Society and its Enemies...

That aside for a moment, I'm sure we all would absolutely love to hear more of your doggies, which would also bring back fond memories of Joe Love...
