Re: Nautikos

I think the goal here (with exception of uniforms) may be to present somewhere between Paris "chic" and "studied sloppiness," without appearing to be "shallow!"

Very interesting points there, and understandably valid. Also of equal import, it is often how well, hopefullly, one's clothing fits, that determines how great (or not) it looks on one. I think this applies to most price ranges?

I was trying to think when reading this post how I may have made my nurses uniform more individual. Nope it didn't work except that i used to see a pen and pick it up. At the end of the shift I would have to give 4 or 5 pens back to different people.

After having spent 20 years in fashion design I have to say this is true to some point but much more goes into what the trained eye sees and the person attempting to dress the part. Good post.

Krisles

Very interesting and apt observations! Incidentally, when travelling in Europe I have noticed more 'chic' in the streets of major cities than here in North America, and not just in Paris...And then there is the fashion of academia - one that might best be described as 'studied sloppiness', LOL...

I like this background entry on clothing and how it relates to the GOP debate.
