Wow!  You were so fortunate.  It had to be your guardian angel.  That's very dangerous on the side of a busy freeway at night.  I don't do that anymore (nighttime on freeway).  I also hate heavy rains on busy freeway.  It's been a long time since I had to have a tire changed on the road like that.

, not many around like this. It does sound as if someone is watching over you. You do know that loud music results in tinnitus, well that's how the hearing expert said he got his.

I'm sure glad it went so well! And I understand about wtaching a well-built 'Guardian Angel' do his work - watching well-built 'Angels' floating by in the park in summer is always a delight, LOL...
