I was drawn to the name of your blog and came across this post.  I think it's because I don't like my life experiences (or the words that come out of other people's mouths) sugar coated.  Differing opinions, debates, and altering perspectives evolve the soul, and as I've read a few of your articles I am guessing your spirit is right up my alley.

It seems we've become a hearts and flowers kind of society.  Feelings and emotion based decisions trump logic and reason.  It's too bad people just quit reading you.  In my opinion, I would rather disagree and find value in what we do agree upon versus closing a door on you for simply being you.

And with news being a la carte nowadays, what is happening on Blogit with people not reading those one agrees with is becoming the norm outside of the confines here as well.

I suspect that, among others, you might have had me in mind when you speak of those who stopped rading you...Let me assure you, I haven't 'stopped reading you, and never will! What has happened is simply that, with travelling and being now involved with something that is troublesome and time-consuming I haven't been much on Blogit at all! What is more (and you've known me long enough to know that I'm not 'just saying' this) I have absolutely nothing against Christianity and Christians, even if I don't believe in it. I sometimes call myself an 'atheist Christian', as did Oriana Fallaci...But I have always enjoyed reading you and shall continue enjoying for a long tome to come...Oh, and do say hello to George for me...

I don't know, Sweetie, it's a different kind of world now.  Just look at the college kids not wanting to hear different viewpoints in some of the schools known for outstanding liberal arts programs!  I don't know about you, but I find less and less in common with younger generations than I had with my elders with I was young...just on a person-to-person basis....in most interactions as the years go by, and it is because of technology and the massive sociological changes that have happened SO fast.    I just somehow offended someone totally unintentionally and now feel I must walk on eggshells here, too, and wonder if it's worth it to leave comments.  Not because I think I did anything wrong but because I really don't like to upset people and we live in a time where there are people who seem to want to get upset, want to be offended because the slightest thing and, voila, they are.  Isn't life hard enough?  Anyway, Justi, I always love what you write.... and I'm with you, we need to hear and think about other opinions, explore them for merit; it is only then that we truly know that our beliefs are our own, and not just ones we have inherited from family, or ones we echo that we have heard from friends or teachers.  Sorry, didn't mean to write a post.  You just always inspire me.
