Years ago, I got each of my elementary-age sons one of those old metal school lunchboxes with all the theme paintings on the outside. I gave them that and told them to fill it with small things they liked to play with. It was great, they each played with them all the time driving and fastened them up and kept them neat when they weren't playing with them. Also they added to it as we traveled--little pretty rocks, pinecones, wildflowrs, etc. They ended up using those every time we traveled.

I loved this post. Such treasures children are if you get into the game of life with them. You are doing that very well it seems.
