I agree because I don't share conversation with many and since I divorced once there are miles between 3 of my kids and me, no conversation at all.

Conversation's the cure for saping  block love?

Sadly K. the folk who need the comfort of a friendly voice are usually housebound.

People do not talk much to neighbours apart from a hurried smile or Good morning etc.

My mother always used to pretend to groan about doing her garden near the road as so many would stop and make conversation. When she became ill only a couple ever came to visit. I still visit one of them today as she is 90. I suppose once there was not so much going on in folk's minds and conversation was enjoyable.. I would imagine a few people remember conversation where once they would have stored and examined it possibly for recreation. Well I remember some things you write, I was rude to you once but was nearly forgiven . Although I suppose we cannot class this as conversation, but I suppose it is as near as dammit.

Well...I always make an effort to listen, sometimes slightly handicapped by the effects of having listened to way too much loud music in the past, LOL...And I hugely enjoy conversations with some friends that can drag on for hours and seem no more than the blink of an eye...

Conversations are so wonderful to have. It is amazing how long we can go nowadays without hearing someone's voice.

Definitely a lonelier world..

lonelier..Nothing bests good old fashioned, face to face conversation - where you make eye contact and hear the different tones, sighs, pitch, etc. of a person's voice and can share the experience or information they are imparting in a much more alive and powerful manner. And see their had expressions too; all so important in listening and being listened to intimacy..

Very thought provoking post. Reminds me of a thought I had a few weeks ago because of my kids and their near total reliance on their devices for communication - hope you don't mind if I share it here - Don't get so connected to all of your communication devices that you become disconnected from yourself.

I may be wrong but you sound really lonely to me.

It is how I would feel without Wiley as we share everything together. I am sorry and I agree, the youngsters just don't seem able to sit and converse.
