I thought moose might behave like deer?

My most exciting animal encounter occurred about a decade ago. I was walking in the neighborhood when there was a straw dog. The dog went right up growling. "Oh, God," I said. Next thing I know, the dog lost interest, thankfully.

It was somewhere in the higher regions of the Teton Mountains of Wyoming.  I had wandered off on the trail by myself, as I often did, and still would if I still went to the mountains.  As I went around a huge boulder and mountain brush following the trail, I came face to face with a horribly big and ugly moose bearing a huge rack on his head.  I think I must have scared him as much as he scared me, for we were both momentarily frozen in time and space.  Then he lept sideways into the brush and ran snorting down the steep hill as I turned and fled in the direction from whence I had come.  It never even occurred to me to try to take his picture.

Too many to remember probably Bill although the first time that I saw a big black bear eating berries beside the road was pretty exciting....Oh and the Moose Mama and her baby.
