According to the Jewish calendar this year beginning in September begins a year that is different than any we have had for a very long time. It also will be the only year to be  like it for more than 500 years. People get so excited to have a bit of fun, sadness, fear, or plain making fun of all things of God Christian or Jew. Nobody knows when the end will be but we are to know the season. Many are waiting to be taken up out of this world and it makes no difference what day that is, we are to keep keeping on...We are to occupy until He calls. All people are free and should be to judge situations as they see them; however, I would no jest about any of this for any reason.

The times that I have visited Kennedy Space Center and NASA's launch complex, in Florida, we always bought freeze-dried food packets for the fun of it.  None of them were really any good.  A little extra water stored away for emergency use is always good, but other than that, I think I'll just take my chances.

Sigh...doomsdayers are always around predicting the end of the World. And what good is food going to be to you if the World smashes into billions of teeny weeny pieces.

I think it will be plenty bright enough for a lot of folks Naut. You ought to take bets that it will not happen, you would be on a winner and no one would claim if you lost.

I used to have LDS (Mormon) friends when I lived on Hale Ave.,

some 30 years ago - they were always prepared for all heck to hit the fan, big plastic tubs of grain to make flour, canned goods, freeze dried stuff - but no instant coffee or sippin' whiskey which are on my must-have list. They also had wood-burning fireplaces and in the garage, portable little propane tanks. Candles, lanterns, sleeping bags, the whole list of things you'd need if the electric grid should go down.
