Re:

Well written and inspirational!

Back in the late 1960's, we had a politician whose nickname was "The Happy Warrior." I wasn't a fan of his politics but I loved the nickname and tried to pattern my life after it.

This made me think of yesterday....I had gone to do a whole weeks worth of grocery shopping and for needed items, being out of everything.  Hot day.  Tired old lady.  Purchases to be carried in...hoping son was around to do that for me.  Took in the first big load, put them in the kitchen and on the table, went in and plopped on the recliner, put my feet up and started murmering.  "Why is son never here when I need him.  I know he'll be returning just when I have it finally all done, so on and so forth."  And then it hit me that I was whining, which I hate.  I changed my tune, said, "Thank you Lord for this abundant food that I just brought home, thank you for my feet and legs to get me up and down the stairs, and my strength to do things for myself."  The foot rest came down and I bounded up out of the chair and started humming a tune as I made three more trips out to the car and back.  Sure enough, when I was finished he drove up and came in and started looking through all the goodies.
