Your dad should learn to actually take a vacation....meaning, not everyday! JMHO, but you either leave things behind and get away from them or you don't....he obviously doesn't. That said, I understand that some folks just cannot do that and would be miserable any other way! But, of course, you could handle it...it's just a shame he doesn't realize he doesn't have to be the center of the universe to be loved and be important.

Well you usually manage to keep the firm ticking over. Dad should promote you or bring you a stick of rock. Folk always used to bring a few sticks back from holidays.

Sounds as though your Dad is relaxing nicely, as he should on vacation. I'm sure he appreciates your ability to handle things so he can do so. I'm one of the nosey ones, lol, but I can understand not wanting to delve deeply into personal issues.
