Little baby Ben appears to have a good balance, such a good picture for the times.

TAPS

I love this post and all of them. I love the love and kindness of those willing to move to help family who needed them. This photo is adorable. I am having fun revisiting my past and I can tell you are too. Be blessed.

Cute pic! But it strikes me that even in good times hardship and tragedy were always lurking more closely than they are today - or maybe I'm just leading a 'sheltered' life, LOL...

Re: Re: Katray2

Wow, forgive me if my sense of humor seems off, TAPS, but I can imagine you as a child saying: "Uncle Dollar, got a nickel or dime maybe for a poor, candy starved kid??"....:)   Guess I wished I had an Uncle Dollar!

Re: Katray2

The baby was my Uncle Dollar.  As an adult his friends called him Ben.  He was named after his Dad.

The bonds of family and also neighborly love were truly lovely

in those days - so different now. Wonderful storytelling as always, TAPS.   And I love the picture, the baby is so sweet looking; would that be your uncle?....

Re: Kabu

If you look at the side, you can see Ollie's hands ready to grab him if he takes a dive.  Also it is a special chair with that arm being curved into a supportive seating place for baby.  LOL

🍵Maybe in Oklahoma the sweet corns then (still available) would sell. However, your ancestors sure reaped a sweet harvest of babes and a delicacy in the husk love. BC-A, Bill’s R👀stt 🌽 👶👶
