strange you asked, i had a neighbor that wanted to tell and do what he thought was best for me without my having time to accept his offer, i finally made up my mind not to have him put a fence around me and told him thanks but no thanks, time will heal this wound and if not i will continue to love and treat him as i always have.

Talking things out, mediation (a more formal way of talking things out) and litigation are ways in which things can get softened, although they can certainly add more proverbial fuel to the fire.

A neighbor that doesn't say good morning or return the greet drives me nuts.
