I am not surprised. Both sides knew that it would be too painful for Greece to exit the European Union and thus the Euro. They talked tough, but at the end of the day, they had to do a deal. Eventually, though, it is going to get to a pont where one or both parties are going to go all the way with Greece either getting kicked out and/or leaving.
