For me, my favorite thing to do at the beach is to ride the waves...I have been caught out at storms. Fortunately, the shelter was nearby.

I considered all of the things that I love about beaches--the moon path on the water at night, walking barefoot in the sand, collecting seashells, palm trees leaning over the white sands, waves breaking on the shore.... And then I realized that the thing that makes all of that so enjoyable is to have one or more loved ones there with me to share it all.

swimming in a natural rock pool where the fresh salt water laps over the sides.
got caught once when i was a kid in a storm when we were out fishing as a family. nasty experience.

strangely the quiet and the sounds. the open space in front of me, looking forward and never looking back. wonderful place the beach if you go when the sun is going down,lol.
