I am not at all saying the police officers were right but they have a very tough job
on their hands. And most of the violent crime in the U.S. comes from the inner cities.
They are up against ''shoot or get shot.'' Even though crime rates have come down
in the U.S., they're still embarrassingly higher than other developed countries and
we need to do something about it.
