If one lives in the city he believes the world is over crowded. There are millions of acreage open void of habitation all over the world. The world is about a battle between Satan and God or Good and Evil. Those who died as Christians are already in heaven as we speak, a far better destination than the Mediterranean coast.

I am liking the Italian accident...So terrible it is that happened to those twelve people.

I'm sick. This cruelty is sickening. I believe the human race is heading

for obliteration. Life in this crowded world is going from cheap to worthless.

Well what were the other guys doing, glad there was more room?  It seems strange that twelve could dominate a boat unless they had weapons. It is sad that folk have to be uprooted and probably will still live in uncertain circumstances, resentment will eventually arise from the host countries.

It is a destination for the destitute, a last chance for those without hope of things getting better where they are.  They have heard and believe that Sicily is the "promised land".  They are willing to take the gamble.  It brought to mind "The Lord of the Flies" and how they reverted to savages:

"Shut up," said Ralph absently. He lifted the conch. "Seems to me we ought to have a chief to decide things."

"A chief! A chief!"

"I ought to be chief," said Jack with simple arrogance, "because I'm chapter chorister and head boy. I can sing C sharp."

I have heard bits and pieces of this. And yes, good point by Adnohr.

Nautikos

This is just so tragic...on and on and on...and adnohr is right, I wonder what the whole story is...I always hate the way we get these things in blips and the a bit more and then eventually the whole thing, all questions answered.  But, regardless, just the basic facts are enough to shout....and make us want to rattle cages.......and write lettersl

Why wasn't that human chain formed BEFORE the 12 were thrown to their death?
