Re:

I didn't mean, Inside, to stir up any controversy! I really don't know the ins & outs of the electric companies in Georgia. I was just going for a silly pun . . .

Thanks, chuck. Like one surgeon said to the other, I like to leave my audience in stitches . . .

Re: JimmyA

I gotcha good with these, eh, Sir Wiley? Keep humming, and smilin' . . .

Re:

You're quite welcome, Kabu. Sorry if I did ruin any of these songs for you. But now, when you do hear them, you'll have something new to think about, and hopefully, it will bring a new smile to your face . . .

Re:

Thanks, adnohr. And somehow, you can actually picture Otis Redding sitting there singing, while lamenting the loss of his boat . . .

Re: jimmy

Absolutely, jean. I have a notebook with me at all times, and when the topic arises . . .and then the various 'fillers' . . . I quickly jot them down! Then of course I have to share them! Glad you're laughing . . .

Re:

Probably, Vermont. I mean, 'leaving your heart' is just a metaphor. But leaving other things behind is a lot more common . . .

Never, Bill! I'll stick with the originals . . .

Re:

Well, Justi, I suppose many of them would be considered 'golden oldies,' but that helps because of their popularity. Glad you enjoyed them . . .

Re:

Makes you think, doesn't it, FSI? I mean, the song does have a catchy chorus, but what if Fats Domino really was allergic to blueberries? He may have had to find another hill . . .

Re:

Something tells me, Kristles, that Naut was only joshing. I did my very best to come up with songs I felt most everybody would recall. Otherwise, it kinda defeats the purpose. Keep humming . . .

Re: Jimmy

You must be kidding, Naut. Or did that one just touch a nerve of sorts with you because it dealt with sinking boats?

Cute one, eh, lustor? And something tells me it may actually be fairly accurate . . .

Re:

They do indeed, C C T, and unfortunately, not for the better. No, I can't imagine anyone singing any of these songs with my added lyrics, although I think it would be funny as hell . . .

entertaining for sure.  your assessment of the lights in Ga is true, brown collage has not paid their power bill in 10 years and the lights are still on, but if little ole couple is a few days late they turn it off.

Funny, funny....I will probably be singing these all day.  And you just triggered a memory of a post about one of my favorite old songs...I'll have to rummage through and see if I can find it.  Now I cannot believe Nautikos doesn't know Otis Redding's classic....I mean, I am almost appalled!

Jimmy

LOL! I actually hummed at least the beginning of each one, except for the very last - I don't remember that one...

Well I expect an audience would burst into laughter if the songs were sung to your words. Although Jimmy I can't understand what most are singing about these days.Once a song was audible and the voice enhanced it. I suppose fashions change.
