Re: adnohr

It's been so long since I've had chess pie.  But I remember it as being like soft candy in a crust.  LOL

Strawberry-rhubarb for me, please. I had to research chess pie on the internet - had never heard of it. It seems simple to make, so I'm going to try it. Any suggestions for the preparation or serving of it?

Oh my goodness I want at least one slice of each of those beautiful things. A pie party sounds wonderful.

I sometimes buy one slice of chocolate silk pie at the supermarket,

I've made a halfway decent apple pie a time or two, but my fave is pecan. So bad for you, but so delicious..

I don't think they were necessarily 'tempting you,' just trying to make a nice gesture. I like pie too. I love blueberry pie, and lemon meringue is a close second. However, I ain't eatin' any pie if there's math involved . . .

Four clockwise please a large slice, I think I can eat pie. Phil will be pleased.

Re: Krisles

My mother used to make chess pie when I was a kid.  I think I loved it too much and that is why I shouldn't have pie now.

Dang!  Why did I have to read this when I'm going to Marble Falls in a couple of hours...I won't be able to resist stopping in at the Blue Bonnet Cafe for pie....I always get their German Chocolate.  I am a genuine pie fanatic with my absolute fav's being coconut cream, lemon chess and caramel.....oh, and a really good peach cobbler.

I didn't know about Pi Day either - but it certainly sounds delicious! I'm not eating much pie these days either (trying to lose a little weight once again, LOL), but I've been known to indulge! My faves are apple pie (especially a French version, called Tarte Tatin), and Key Lime Pie...
