Well, as a foundation, they certainly couldn't hurt . . .

Well, she has beautiful hair!  Actually, I read the article and didn't see that she was the one giving advice or that the authors were advocating charm but rather pointing out that people tend to think that the traditional tools of charm and confidence in women may be what they think they want in professsional women but what they actually want when outcomes will affect them, is women who get results - and if that means more non-traditional traits which might not actually be so charming then that will work.  I have found this to be quite true.  I had to rely on charm to get my foot in, especially early in my career but the more responsibility and the more I dealt with the higher levels the less charm mattered...just the bottom line and hanging in.  Now, may I just have another grape that's been peeled....and some more sugar.......to go with my tequila.....while I go sit on the dock by the bay.

Well, it doesn't hurt anything, for sure.

I believe that she does, yes. With any advice, though, one has to look at what will work best for oneself. Advice is not a one-sized fits all category. Nonetheless, her words and exmaple can be of help.
