Pity is something I only feel for helpless animals and children...and truly helpless people.  Your story as you have shared it does not read like a helpless woman, but a determined and persistent woman....you will overcome.

His abuse is controlling and keeping you down...

Actually I never have read you and thought that you are asking for Sympathy. I see a woman with a wonderful mind and many capabilities who is more able to help herself by writing down all that is and has accured.  It is tough to admit that one has made such a mistake. My pride kept me in my second marriage for nearly 20 years Ir shames me to say...what a waste pride is. Much better to love ones self enough to move on. I am not just interested in what you write...I like you.

You do seem to be on the road to recovery and I know we all hope that you will find a happy settlement.

Many people go through extremely stressful and difficult times in their lives, and sharing that particular story may, as you've said, help others. Thirty years ago, I made the mistake of befriending someone who was not all that stable. It cost me two and a half years in prison. At the conclusion of the book I wrote about this ordeal ( "The Hindering" ) I warned others to pay very close attention to their surroundings, and be careful of 'acquaintances' who may not have your best interests at heart. Anyone and everyone can learn from the history of others . . .

I don't think people are going to pity you. Most of the people on Blogit seem rather

 nice and welcoming.
