snow is wonderful if you are very young or retired where you can just sit in the house and enjoy looking at it.  stay warm and safe.

Well we will know why Justi. Perhaps you are lucky it seems N.Y. has been given a nasty bout of freezing weather. Do keep in the warm and tell George to be careful if he is still thinking of driving to work.

I was amazed here when I first came at how beautifully everyone copes with the Snow. Winter costs a lot with keeping the house warm but eveyone just keeps on as usual, inside repairs are done and then in Summer outside repairs.

Re: Purple

I am home.  He is here as well.  He will be home all day "working" downstairs.  I have learned to prefer that than to resent that.

Where are you? I hope your husband is able to be home soon. Keep us updated.

Yes, here we have snow and ice and when your community is not prepared it becomes dangerous.  Last year in Atlanta, my son was in a 30 car pile up and totaled his car.  My husband started home from work and was unable to get here.  I worried all night as he was sleeping in his car on a desolate area.  PS  My daughter told me it was snowing in Fort Hood TX yesterday!!

We are up to ten inches now. No we don't have chains and can't go anywhere anyway. You can't get to stores etc., each street and highway out of town which means in town too because we live in the downtown area and that is a section only two miles, to get out of that you have to cross a causeway or over a major bridge anyway you go. They are not passable yet. Also our power lines are holding a lot of this now which in the past have broken all over, hopefully not this time. It is so pristine, looks like a fairy tale.

I have about 2ft of the stuff in my backyard, and it can actually be quite beautiful, especially in the kind of brilliant sun we had today! But I've had enough! And be careful when you're driving - I bet you don't have snow tires on your car...
