Auctions!

I love them.  Buy too much stuff that will be in a yardsell in a year.  HOPE you have unexpected money coming from your venture.

Jean

I hope you sold a lot at that auction! And stories wih children's drawings might be fun, and might actually find an audience...

I know auctions can be a bit cruel at times .

I remember my poor old Dad saying years ago, when he was a a young man he placed fifty young hens up for sale at the local auction. The bidding was so low that he began bidding himself , The Auctioneer, looked at him and said 'Do you want to sell these hens or not?  My Dad replied, 'Yes, but I don't want to give them away.' He did sell them later that day privately at a reasonable price.

Re: taps

i can remember growing up in kansas and all the snow we got. living here in north florida is not anything like that, we very seldom get snow and if we do it is gone in 20 minutes. lol.  but it can get cold here, will be down in the 20's at night and only in the 40's daytime this week.  again it will not last long, maybe 3-4 days.  so i can find time to go in and out, when i tend to stay indoors is the hot and humid weather, much more dangerous than the cold weather.

Re: kabu

i have so much to take care of here i have to be minimalistic, but you are right it is bright.

It all sounds good, and it's keeping you busy. And even though you may not make much money selling that furniture, you can relish in the fact that others are getting good use out of it, right? And many people thought that I would do an illustrated children's book some day, but it's more difficult than people think. But if you really put your mind to it . . .

Around here, everything that involves going in and out is put on hold until spring-like weather.  Right now it is horribly cold and snowing.

I have never sold any items in an auction. I wonder what it would be like.

It is a shame but people don't want antiques at the moment. it is all minimalistic ...I much prefer  antiques ...don't have room here...so I have a cluttered cottage look which is now out of vogue too. So sorry you haven't made a small fortune in cash but I bet your house is bright and happy to walk into. xx
