I too think there should be some 'quiet time' for everyone. That is, one we can completely control, of course . . .

I remember when I would go away on vacations. I was really craving private time by the end of the vacation.

If I'd been there, I'd have gone screaming out into traffic...

I like people, like hearing stories, but not as a marathon event.

I imagine they also assigned you topics to discuss, because how could anyone talk that long and keep thinking of new material? It really left you no thinking or reading time at all, did it? That's what quiet is all about. Quite a feat!

Goodness Taps we must begin to hold you in awe. That was not really long ago. Such a pity you deleted those old blogs it would have kept you going for onks,

Re: Naut

It was all in English.  There was a rule "No Español" at all except in an emergency.  The Spanish were paying a lot to become fluent in Ingles.  They were doctors, lawyers, business people whose companies were paying the tab for them to learn to communicate in English.  They had already studied the English basics, they just needed practice in all kinds of situations.

An absolutely fascinating experience! I take it this talking was done mostly in English, or was it possible for you to practice your Spanish as well?

That was an amazing thing you did; however, I could not have made it. I too need a lot of refreshing silence. You are a amazing woman. I love these new blogs.

Re: TAPS

I wrote about it years ago when my blog was named PERPLEXITIES.  Somewhere about four or five years ago I deleted all my blogs and started all over again.  I have regretted that many times because I didn't keep copies of what I deleted and have often wished I did.

I've never been to Spain....haven't seen much of the world at all. I have friends in Leawood who spend time in Spain every year, it's their favorite place in the world.  How on earth did you end up doing this...did I miss something?  I must have....often do...
