I believe you're very lucky, in many respects, not the least of which is having an understanding family to pick up where you left off. I hope it was a wonderful day for you, and that you kicked that 'zombie aspect' . . .

I think any day is a good day to be thankful for family and friends, and not having to prepare a huge meal (not to mention all the cleaning...).

I wish and I know that you'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your sons! And, like Pat, I am thankful for your delightful presence here in Blogitville...

Re: Pat_B

What a nice and sweet comment from a very special lady.  May your Thanksgiving day be very special.  And now, since I don't have to start cooking, I'm going back to bed for a while.  LOL

How many Thanksgivings have you met the challenge and hosted the

horde? Bet you can't count them on all your fingers and toes. So you've given them a chance to say thanks, Mom... And it seems to me every day you count your blessings is the right day. Have a wonderful day with lots to smile about.  And you're one of the folks I'm thankful for today, Haiku, insights, laughs and all.

Good for you for being sensible....and of course he pulled through for you, you raised him!!  I just got through lamenting to Naut about how I'm not cooking anymore this year because I've been cooking all day and I'm exhausted.  It's such a love/hate thing anymore.....and with my knees not 100% since replacements, it just kills me to stand on them all day....chopping, stirring, cleaning up, etc., etc.....but I do love the tradition and nurturing...the smells, the memories, just the fact that I "can"....it's kind of nice to still do it after not doing it and letting my daughter do it let last several years...but she can sure have it back next year

Hope you get to feeling better and that you have a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving.
