Goodness you have written a lot a lot today. It was a hard life for women in the old days.

Memory is very short one of my grandmothers had a well in the kitchen, I suppose that was a luxury in those times.

I imagine that most would be unable and/or unwilling to do that kind of physical labor nowadays.
