Re:

I think a lot of people would, Kabu. That's why I felt this was somewhat devastating news! I think, what we should fear now is someone adding various 'unsavory ingredients' to stretch out the stock to meet the demands! Chocolate should remain pure . . .

well I can live so long as there is Fudge and marshmallow, but I do like a little CHocolate with my icecream....I would hate to have a World without chocolatein it I do believe.

Re: JimmyA

No problem, Sir Wiley. Glad to be back. And I was under the assumption ( perhaps from past readings ) that Kabu was a chocolate lover, or at least was somewhat fond of it! Well, even if she isn't, she's probably one of the few people who wouldn't be driven out of town! She would just have to find something else to eat as a treat while the rest of us enjoy our chocolate . . .

Re:

I certainly hope so, lovelylady! Although it's really not a necessity, it has become one of those 'special treats' that millions of people enjoy, probably everyday! Somehow, I get the feeling that things will turn around soon for those cocoa farmers, and we'll have all the chocolate we need . . .

Re:

I know what you mean, TAPS. Most people who do like chocolate will like it in almost any form! I must admit I'm not all that familiar with See's or Rhebs, but I do know the dangers of getting anywhere near a Godiva shop! You almost can't leave empty-handed . . .

Re:

I'm sure it was, C C T! And although I'm not a huge licorice fan, a couple of 'whips' now and again is nice. My wife loves the black licorice, while I prefer the red. And hey, a chocolate drink first thing sounds like a good way to start the day, although, as it gets colder, I'll assume that will turn into 'hot chocolate' . . .

Re:

You may have to, FSI, although I don't think there's a whole heck of a lot of chocolate in Oreo's, except the chocolate cream-filled ones! Have you tried the peanut butter-filled ones yet? Talk about addicting . . .

Re:

I hope not, Bill. I can see watering down liquor ( which may save lives ), but chocolate? Some formulas should never be tampered with . . .

Re: Jimmy

Well, Naut, whether those people are driven from town or not, there'll still be plenty of chocolate for the rest of us! It would be more of a form of 'punishment' for being just too utterly different! Let them go live amongst the 'white' chocolate lovers ( yuck! ) And since my wife and I don't really drink, we will have to depend on those chocolate bars to get our anti-oxidant fix! Now that's a good prescription if I've ever heard one . . .

Strange I just went out of the house to buy 6 bags of Lindt  LINDOR extra dark 60% chocolate. Kabu will have to be driven out of town (Oh she is out of town)so get your pitchfork ready because the only chocolate she will eat is on ice cream bars. LOL Wow, you sure researched the subject and that's what I so admire about your writing. Thanks for coming back my friend.

I have faith, Jimmy!  Somehow, the Lord will provide chocolate to us just when we need it the most!

I've never been a chocoholic, but on the other hand I'm not known to refuse a box of See's from CA, or Rhebs homemade candies from Baltimore, and it is difficult to pass a Godiva shop on The Country Club Plaza without going in.

I like a chocolate drink first thing Jimmy, but I prefer liquorice all-sorts. You will say  there is a shortage of liquorice next. Donkey's years ago we had little penny bars of real chocolate one could suck it to a point or put it in custard, it was yummy.

I'm a chocolate lover, too. Oreos are how I get my chocolate fix. I guess I'm going to have to stock up on a ton of them.

Nestle that owns both Poland Springs and Deer Park can water down their chocolate Jimmy.

I'll confess: I'm a chocaholic, but I limit myself to one rib (mostly 1/8 of a bar) a day! Of course I get my anti-oxidants from red wine as well, LOL. And I would not drive someone who doesn't like chocolate out of town! The more of those people, the more chocolate for me...
