Being a 'Jersey boy' myself, and a bit of an amateur historian, I would have to say yes! Too many cultural landmarks are discarded and their significance is all but forgotten. Keep the carousel's place in history intact . . .

I feel that the mayor is right. Unfortunately, it is very tough to keep things going that are money holes or when the demand is greater for something else that can replace it.
