I'm with Naut & Pat - a good dog is the way to go. And make sure he knows the ex is not a welcome person. This has me worried.

you are wise to close the book on that one...learn to use the gun for your son's sake as well as your own....god bless and keep you safe

Well Jean I did not mean let a room to your Ex. Someone sensible that looks a bit like one of your sons. Or a lady policewoman. If not adopt a grown dog that is friendly to you and looks fierce.

Jean

All this is disturbing! The question arises - is he in the first stages of dementia? And there are things you can do to protect yourself - maybe you discuss that with people you trust! If you feel you could handle it, you might want to get a dog, but it has to be the right kind...

I would get a dog before I'd get a gun.

It's harder for someone to take the dog and use it against you.

b🏆Justi might have merit for consideration. I’ve met someone like that, a veteran years ago. He would retreat and face the wall. It was at a young adult meeting at a church. For myself, he made me nervous, and I felt afraid. So I can’t recommend C.C.T.’s opinion, but with Justi’s, it’s possible to lease a room to your ex love. BC-A, Bill’s R👀st

Sounds to me that he is missing his old life Jean. It is not really your problem now, but it must be disturbing for you. I would try and let a room, on a trial basis. Although you could get a fierce dog. I cannot see why your ex would want to harm you. You have gone along with what he wanted, most folk stay away from each other,> I would ask your sons what they think.

How old is the man? Have you seen other signs other than his talking of death and telling people you are dead? This sounds very suspicious. Can you have his family see that he gets some testing?
