I grew up in a suburb called Breckenridge Hills.  And yes, it was true to its name!

You're lucky the bike was still there at all! Riding bikes has always been good exercise, but sometimes those hills can be killers! Always more fun to go down hill . . .

Yes - sometimes we bite off more than we can chew. It ended well. Did you ever think of trying the ride again?

That was quite the experience you had there. That is something how the bike moved.

Well Jean, you must put a lot of faith in water. I think you were chewing off a bit more than you could swallow. Those old bikes were really heavy, we kids learned with one without tires, the first one I had I bought in stages from my parents, that is another story though.

That had to be somewhat frightening for you and I'm happy you made it home again with your bike.

I wouldn't have made it either, was never much good riding up into the hills. i rode my bike everyday to school before I went to boarding school  but it only a mile and a half and fairly flat.
