Re:

Thanks BCA... I'm relieved his father is now back to give him more support, it's been hard for him to be on his own so much.

Re:

Thanks FSI, it has been, but it's been worth the effort to support him.

Re:

Thank you CCT.  He was so devastated.. he has had breakups before (and instigated one  or two), but none had affected him like this.  The worst part for him is her refusal to have any dialogue with him, when she knows he's hurting. That's not his way, he has always at least talked it through if asked to.  I explained to him that although that's how he handles things (to his credit), not everyone is at the same maturity level and everyone is different.  It's been a long haul, but he will be fine, in time.

Re:

Hello Kabu... it's been a rough ride for him, but I do see signs of him getting better, thank God.  And yes, it wasn't nice of my guy at all... I don't think he meant it to be offensive (I put him straight on that count...smile..)

Re:

Right, Jimmy - not a good thing.  However... things always have a way of recovering, I'm glad to say.

It is tough when those we love are going through so much.

It's hard to see your sons unhappy, but there is really not much a mom can do except be a sounding board.

I hope your son 'presses on' as it were and just cut her adrift like an odd tramp steamer.

Meneme Oh! damn I can never get that right. I think men well young men truly believe there will never be another first love . Of course it is ridiculous one just bonds to the most convenient desirable person. Nevertheless this supposition can leave a tragic memory which sometimes prevails throughout one's life. Your son is lucky to be able to show emotion and I think he will get over this eventually. No one likes to break with the norm.

i feel sorry for your son. Young love can be so fragile and painful and nothing like new adventures and other exciting people and places to make the one trvelling wonder if she really wants to settle just yet. Very hard on your Son of course who is already settled and seems to really love the girl.

As for your guy...that was a mean horrible comment...

Yep, I second Jimmy...Beyond that, I made a vow to myself many years ago that I would never advise people on matters of the heart, simply because it's impossible...And of course I do hope your son will get over his pain soon...
