I have to say that it is tough limiting it to one. I'll go with Ted Williams since he was the last guy to hit .400 in a season.

You mean, if I fancied myself a 'great' pitcher, who would I like to see if I could strike out, or at least retire? Well, there have been hundreds of excellent hitters over the years, but I guess if I wanted to 'challenge' myself, I would say someone like Reggie Jackson. A solid all-around hitter, but also the 'strikeout' leader! That could be fun . . .
