I do not see it happening. Here are three reasons why:
1. Teams want to get as much money as they can. Why get say for instance $100 when they can get $200 for separate games?
2. Doubleheaders can wear down a team, especially with the way teams through pitchers nowadays.
3. Most fans have no interest in attending two games in one day.
