I understand, and agree. My wife and I have 'several' cats ( all rescues ), and I actually helped in naming a couple of them ( it was fun ). Yes, if someone has absolutely no compassion for an animal, any animal, they will probably act accordingly towards other humans! But for a good life's lesson in caring for nature's 'underdogs,' go read my latest blog . . .

Interesting and sadly I have met people who say they prefer animals to people.

People who abuse their pets are beyond the pale, as far as I am concerned...And you can always give Norman a nickname... We had a wonderful Standard Poodle with a long, aristocratic name, but we called him Jag...Our current dog (German Shorthair Pointer) is named Ben, but he also listens to Bennie, Doggie and often Hey, LOL...
