Too much of medication is bad .

people take too many medications too often and eery chemical that we put into our bodies creates some sort of reaction, usually adverse from slight to huge. but if a person has high blood pressure, one does not want a stroke and if one is prescribed antibiotics they really should take the full prescription...it can be dangerous for the bug will build up defence against the antibiotic and next time it won't be able to fight for you.

An entry that is making me think about the use of medicine...My paternal grandmother had rheumatic fever back in the late teens.

Unfortunately, medications act in different ways.

Not taking a full course of antibiotics makes the bug they are trying to clear from your system, stronger, and harder to kill.  That's why we have super-bugs nowadays, because they've been able to build resistance to the meds we have.

But I expect there are other kinds of meds that we really do only need to take until we feel our own system kicking in and doing the healing.

Psychiatric meds, of course, make someone feel better, and that is why they should not stop taking them. But we always want to. I know I feel imposed on by the routine. But after some experience, I sigh, and take them regularly anyhow.  Well, sort of regularly.
