Re: Re: Re: Re: Re:

Thanks, Kabu. Believe me, I definitely learned from that fiasco! I was extremely bitter for many years afterward, for various reasons, many of which would be completely understandable for those who've read my story. But my wife always likes to point out that, although the series of events were terrible and took a toll on me, they did eventually lead me to her! There's an excellent chance that, if those events didn't happen, we probably would not have met! Just with that in mind, I'll accept my 'lumps' and press forward, with a wonderful woman by my side . . .

Re: Re: Re: Re:

I disagree that is all that you will leave behind. I think it is wonderful amazing and extremely special that you rose above the mistake that you made as a youngster. Not everyone does y'now!! You never once said Oh poor me  the World owes me..no you took all that you learned from the experience and went on to live as you still do a successful life. Loving, loyal, a good friend, nonjudgmental of others; you have enjoyed a successful career and are a really good PUBLISHED writer.

Re: Re: Re:

Thanks, Kabu. Yes, we are indeed friends, so tease away! And there was really no other way to write that book or present that story without 'sparing' anything personal. But at least now, the people who were never 100% sure about exactly what happened back then will have a full account. That's all I'll have to leave behind . . .

Re: Re:

tee hee...Wiley tells me that I am a dreadful tease to my friends...I suppose he must be right. having read your book...well I feel we are friends. It was such a personal no sparing of yourself story. I will keep that book forever.

Re:

No, no, Kabu, I would never do that! But I am sorry I couldn't get on-line Monday! Believe me, I tried! But there seemed to be no point in following these off-the-wall on-screen instructions to possibly rectify the situation ( empty your cache, restart your preferences, change these settings, etc. ). It was a 'global' thing, and apparently, nothing I could have done was going to help! I will try to make sure it never happens again! All is forgiven . . . ?

Re: Jimmy

I know there are a few street cars still around, Naut, but yes, they are a dying species indeed! And although some of those passengers and would-be passengers may have been somewhat upset, I'll bet watching that orchestra labor through a symphony like that was at least entertaining! Or boring. I'm not exactly sure which . . .

Re: JimmyA

Well, Bill, that really didn't affect me. I've already done my stint going back and forth to use the library computers when my old Mac died a few years ago and I was between computers. Never again . . .

Re:

Thanks, FSI. Although my wife and I were having a bit of fun on Memorial Day, I was still hoping to at least post my usual Monday morning blog. However, the internet gods said "Not today!" Next week's will be even better ( I hope ) . . .

Jimmy

LOL! You just gave me another reason why I would never use a streetcar (of which we actually have a few left here in Toronto - nobofy knows why, because we have plenty of subways and buses!), and always make sure the conductor at the Toronto Symphony doesn't have a brother at the Toronto Transit Comission...

I thought that you had too much fun on Memorial Day.

That is a clever one there.
