I tend to 'bounce around' the various categories, because you never know what you may stumble upon. And of course there are certain blogs I visit all the time. I think you should decide for yourself where your blog fits best, although moving it may attract a larger reading audience. Do what you feel is best for you . . .

I follow the writer in almost every category they are in except sports and politics...not a fan of either of them...hope the change helps

I myself do not follow the categories that people's blogs are in. I myself go into the New Blog Entries page. Others may have different methods, though, so I say it is worth a shot.
