About the carriage horses, I don't know what to say.  We are having the same controversy about ours here on The Country Club Plaza where they have always been.

Although it's a wonderful tourist attraction, I don't believe those horses are being treated as well as everyone thinks. However, from information my wife has received, there's a very good chance that if those carriage rides stop altogether, many of those same horses will probably end up either in cans of dog food, or on someone's dinner table! So, if that's the case, then I say Ride On, Carriages!
