You're really opening up a can of worms with this one! All of history seems to be skewed in some form. Who the hell knows what's factual anymore, and what's semi-fictional? Every once in a while, an obscure diary emerges that disputes some long-standing notion of a specific historical event. I could go on and on about some of the ones I've heard about, but there just isn't enough room . . . or time!

I did not know any of those facts. Information like this makes me realize that with art, a close inspection is absoloutely essential to understanding the piece and history.

Another thing we haven't learned is that many if not most of the slave traders were Arab Muslims, that Islam permits slavery and that it exists in Muslim countries to this day! I really doubt that many 'Black Muslims' have a clue about that...
