Out here in the dry lands snow is always a gift, its what we drink and water our lawns with.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be crude or anything, but your two sentences seem to contradict each other. There's at least foot of snow burying us up here right now too, but it's very difficult to look at it as 'a gift' from anyone . . .
