I agree that they can't please everyone Utahjay

but I think some of them seek power for the purpose of harming those who are already hurting

Every politician harms others, they cannot please everyone, or help everyone, as for those who you speak of, I find them to be too close to those on the right, or too afraid of them...They all want to protect and preserve their power, that is why we need term limits in Congress and in the Senate. It is also why we need a Attorney General who is not appointed by the President, but elected by the people.

I concur with Jay. They just can't seem to help themselves. Once you become a politician and enter that arena, this 'disease' takes over. And the voting system really makes no difference, because you'll just end up with a new crop of 'addicts.' No, this is not what any of our Founding Fathers had envisioned . . .

I think a lot of it, too, is also a result of being out of touch.

And as long as we defend one side and point at the other, then we too have the illness. We must re-learn our history, from books written before 1920, so we can be good stewards of what was given to us for this freedom to rule ourselves is what gave the common man the chance to rise above his station, before that time in history, this was unheard of.

Everyone in Washington, Dem, Reb, or independent have this illness, they all have forgotten that this is our government, not theirs. And it seems the media has forgotten this as well...All of the media.
