Just when one gets used to things it all changes. How differnet to the old store where Mother took along her list and the shop keeper wrote all down so that the boy could fill the order and put it into the car for her while she continued to shop.

All the Fred Meyers here were sold to another chain, but one of the stores we shop at, a Smith's (the chain that bought all the Fred Meyers) that is close by and has reasonable prices is frequently in remodel mode.

One of the local grocery stores my mother goes to was for a time seemingly renovating every year, making it tough to keep track of what was where...At Loyola College, there is, indeed, always some sort of renovating going on.

When I first got married and moved to this area, it took me a long time to get used to the layout of the Stop & Shop that my wife and I shop at. Then they decided to 'rearrange' everything, and I had to learn to find things all over again! What a pain! And you're right . . . the new layout didn't seem to make much difference from the old one ( there was very little logic to it ). I think they did it just for the sake of changing something! But, I think I'm back 'on track' now . . .
