Re: Naut

I am not married nor have I been in a relationship...I wrote that line as a way to show how the future youth will be surprised at a way in which things were done back in the day.

Hey, you're gonna have grandkids? When? I didn't even know you were married - of course that's not an issue these days - you can have issue without that...

I know that is the way most people do it now, but I remember a friend who lost her phone and had no backup. All her clients' numbers were stored there, so it was PANIC for a few days, and so much work to get the indormation again! She now has a written backup.

You're dad has the right idea but I'm writing all mine on the computer and making laminated sheets to have in the house. I don't do modern cell phones

I guess you are right. Things like that will probably on a microchip in your arm. We use the planner always because we use the landline all the time.

And then there is I who have no cell phone at all. I gave it up a year ago and I miss it not. I wonder if the NSA misses me?

I have made a partial transition to the cellphone contact list, but the bulk of my old, established contacts are listed in on of my three telephone/address book (along with their addresses in most cases).

No I would lose a phone planner after a couple of weeks. I write important numbers on a sheet of card and hang it over the phones.

Don't say that! I still use an 'old-fashioned' address book and write down everybody's numbers! And whenever I call someone, I never simply scroll down and hit a button to dial them; I actually type out the entire number, one digit at a time. It's a better mind exercise, and I'm not completely reliant on technology! Yes, I've entered the 21st century kicking and scratching . . .
