Good question! Unfortunately, part of the answer lies in the fact that the U.S. ranks near the bottom of the list of "industrialized nations" when it comes to general education! What a shame! And believe it or not, I have seen other poorly constructed sentences that were actually worse than these! Don't get yourself too upset over it! It's probably not worth it!
