God didn't tell me to be afraid...
I am not suggesting that one is able to go through life without fear. I am just saying that one should reject the formless fear that causes insecurity and a sense of worthlessness. No one is worthless and insecurity is unfounded through understanding and faith. Personally, I subscribe to Roosevelt’s belief that the only thing to fear is fear itself. When one gives fear credit for existing, one gives that fear strength and form. I agree with you that if you overcome some fear that has grown in your life, you will have developed strength from developing the faith to overcome that fear but I certainly do not believe that is the only way to grow. I also do not subscribe to the idea that everyone fears dying. The unknown only causes fear when one’s faith is not adequately developed and, in the end, one’s faith inexorably grows...there is no stopping that no matter how hard one tries.

Think about it you go through life not fearing anything than you are unable to learn from overcoming that fear. Even God tells us to fear the unknown because that is were believe begins. We believe that even though we fear we will be given the strenght to overcome and grow form that fear. We believe in God yet we still fear dieing and not knowing what will happen. It is all the same basic systems of love, life, and growth.

It is one thing to know you are loved and another to not love yourself of believe your life holds any meaning. Thank you for the positive words but a life without fear is a life without growth.
