Sounds ghastly to me, I would be more worried about the germs lurking in that pool .
I tend not to do things that I do not feel happy about these days. Better to have a nice soak in a warm bath and not have the aggro.

Hidden? I find the fear and distaste for the activity, or maybe where the activity was taking place, are very obvious. The adjectives you use, the expressions - oh no - you would have wished to be somewhere else for sure.
